New Study Shows How Salt Consumption Is Endangering Our Kids

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The declining health of America's children has a lot to do with a culprit few even suspect: salt. A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published in the journal Pediatrics has found that kids between the ages of 8 and 18 are eating as much salt as adults and more than twice the 1,500 daily milligrams recommended by the American Heart Association. These high-sodium diets along with a related increase in obesity have led to increasing high blood pressure levels (once viewed as an adult illness) among our youth.
