I have a pencil from Lindsborg, KS that has an eraser on both ends with the words Finns Never Make Misteaks. I believe it was in some of my father's belongings that I inherited when he passed several years ago. I was wondering about the Finn remark when I know that my father was Swedish on both sides of his lineage. Were there also Finnish people in Kansas or was that a joke with some sort of rivalry from the old country?:) Also, this is off topic, but one of my granddaughters had her DNA checked by Ancestry.com and she should have been at least 12% Swedish, but they didn't say Swedish by name only English, Irish, and traces of other European countries, that is on my side as she is also half black. My question is were the Swedes known to mix with other countries? He was born and raised in Olsburg, KS and both his parents were Johnson's. Just thought I would ask as maybe someone there would know something. Thanks
