How did West Valley City, Utah get its name?
West Valley City was formed by combining Hunter, Granger, and Chesterfield. and a new name was needed, it is located on
the west part of the Salt Lake Valley so the name fits. Several names were suggested and voted on. When West Valley was
formed it became the 2nd largest city in Utah.
