Welcome to the Three Bear Inn. A Historic country inn full service family dining cozy tavern and modern budget motel. Our motel consists of 22 comfortable and inexpensive rooms featuring private baths touch tone phones and color cable TV. Easy on or off I-81. Centrally located from Cortland Binghamton and Ithaca. Our Country Tavern is attached to the Restaurant and on the opposite side of the Parking Lot from the Motel. The atmosphere is casual the drinks are well prepared and the service friendly. We have put a lot of effort in selecting our beverages and it is our goal to find just the right libation for each of our distinguished clientele. At any time in our Tap Room you may sit next to a patron from as far away as England or a local farmer from the other side of the mountain. We pride ourselves on discretionary service in a controlled welcoming family friendly environment. We open up at 8 am everyday and always have a pot of fresh brewed coffee ready or if you are so inclined a cold beer or cocktail is also available. All meals are served at the bar as well. Weekend nights can bring a wide range of activities from a live band playing country dance tunes or a DJ spinning everything from todays pop songs to rock and roll or oldies but goodies. Many nights the entertainment is the clientele playing selections from the Internet Juke Box or the bartenders choice of local radio music. The Last Saturday of Every Month is our ever popular Karaoke night. We welcome all of legal age and encourage responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. Hope to see you soon.

The Marathon NY area was well known in colonial times as a summer camping ground of the Seneca Cayuga and Onondaga Indians. Hatchets and arrowheads have been found in the Inn area. The Three Bear Inn known as the Hotel Marathon in the early 1920s took its final name from the three great bearskins that once hung in front.
