Great Oak Manor is situated on 12 acres located directly on the Chesapeake Bay. The back lawn boasts 2 hammocks strung between trees Adirondack and lounge chairs a gazebo and access to the Bay itself. We also have a fire pit on the beach. The building bears resemblance to Maryland houses of the late 18th and early 19th century. Two years into the building of Great Oak the architect Douglas Braik was awarded the Excellence in Maryland Architectural Award for creating the houses 1700 Georgian detail. The grandeur of the main entry hall is emphasized by the spiral stair case that leads to the second floor where most of the guest rooms are located. Four of twelve guest rooms are located on the third floor while one is located on the first floor. The first floor also hosts a sun porch Music Room with piano Library Bayview dining room where breakfast is served Chesapeake Bay Bar room and windowed Bayview Conservatory. The Conservatory is where functions such as weddings receptions business retreats meetings and others are usually held.
