A boutique inn located in the heart of Shelter Island Heights fully renovated and restored harking back to its glory days of the 1940s. The Chequit boasts a variety of fully renovated guestrooms featuring restored hardwood floors custom mattresses luxury bedding summer weight feather duvets flat screen televisions and mini fridges. Each room features a brand new private bathroom appointed with rain head showers luxury bath amenities and plush towels. Throughout the property guests will enjoy amenities such as complimentary WIFI and parking historic covered porches with plush seating and wooden rocking chairs to relax in. The fully restored lobby pays homage to a bygone era in a modern fresh way. It is the site of our bountiful complimentary continental breakfast each morning featuring homemade pastries savory treats a yogurt parfait bar and freshly made granola. In the evening the reception desk transforms into a wine and champagne bar for guests to enjoy before heading out for the night. The Chequit is also home to the White Hill Cafe proudly serving Blue Bottle Coffee and delectable homemade pastries in the morning. After breakfast the White Hill Cafe is the ideal place to pack the perfect picnic for the beach from our grab and go area that is stocked with healthy light picnic faire. The Chequits restaurant Red Maple is open for lunch and dinner and features a unique menu of small plates flat breads and salads perfect for crafting a meal to your own tastes and appetite. The menu focuses on fresh local ingredients prepared in a straightforward rustic manner. Red Maple features an extensive wine list of unique hand picked selections and signature cocktails made with small batch spirits and a unique selection of craft beers help to compliment the curated beverage selection.
