Built in 1907 the Luz Hotel is a 23 room hotel located at 725 Geary Street between Leavenworth and Hyde Streets. It is centrally located four blocks which is about 5 minute walk to Union Square District and the Cable Car line on Powell Street. The Luz Hotel has 15 permanent residents and 7 tourist rooms. There is only one tourist room that have its own private bathroom. The remaining 6 rooms have shared bathrooms one shower room and two restrooms which is located in the hallway. The Luz Hotel is like a big family house or best compared to a European style Pension house where most of our rooms have shared baths that are maintained frequently through out the day. The Luz is a temporary home for many European Asian Latin American and local travelers alike. Our goal is for our guest to feel that The Luz is their Home away from Home. After all our slogan is Check in as a guest and leave as a friend. Our main mission is to welcome with open arms that comes from our heart and to ensure that your stay be a comfortable one. The front desk is open from 9 AM thru 10 PM although someone is always available in case the guest needs assistance. All Hotel Staff Hotel Manager Maintenance person and Front Desk Clerk resides in the building. In addition the building has a 24 HR security camera. There is a self service laundry facility on site for 4.00 USD large load 26 minute wash and 0.25 USD for 8 minute drying. The building being more than a 100 years old and we want to preserve the character of the building does not have centralized air conditioning. We provide electric fan if needed or upon request. Each rooms are individually styled and decorated with wall heater and sink basin.
