Tip: Take a camera, there are some amazing views to be had from here. This is the trendy district of Cleveland, filled with boutiques and bars.
University Circle
Tip: It's easy to be overwhelmed here. Plan your visit carefully; pick out what you want to see beforehand. An area devoted to education, learning and medicine containing many of the finest museums, galleries, institutes and theaters.
West Side Market
Tip: One of the earliest farmers' markets. But shop around, prices differ. Set in the historical Ohio City area, this is a huge market for fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, flowers, meat and fish. Much of the produce is organic.
Wild Oats Natural Marketplace
Tip: Different types of fast food available. Ideal for a quick bite. Everything is natural and organically grown. Here they sell fruit and vegetables as well as processed foods, deli items, vitamins and medicines. Ideal for those with dietary concerns.
Beachwood Place
Tip: It's so big you should ask the Concierge for a store directory before you visit. Big names, such as Saks Fifth Ave, Coach, Nordstroms and Louis Vuitton amongst over 100 specialist shops and boutiques. Very much an up-market mall.

Half a Day: Art Galleries
There are sponsored seasonal art walks which visit the galleries along Mayfield and Murray Hill in Little Italy. Even if they are not operating during your visit, you can easily take your own tour. All you need is a map and a comfortable pair of shoes.
Half a Day: Lake and River Cruise
A lake and river cruise might be just the ticket. The Goodtime III and the Nautica Queen both operate cruises at lunchtime and in the evening for dinner and dancing. They don't operate for the first three months of the year.
One Hour: Helicopter Tour
If you're really in a hurry why not take a helicopter tour? Only $110 for two people, and you get a fantastic aerial view of the city. Ask the Concierge for details.
One Hour: Lolly the Trolley
Take a Lolly the Trolley city tour. They offer both 1 hour and 2 hour tours. It's the best way to get a feel of the city as well as a chance to understand the layout of the town. The cost is only $10, but do phone ahead for reservations.
Two Hours: Nature and History Tour
Emerald Necklace Excursions can take you on a tour of the Cleveland Metroparks. It's basically a nature tour but you also get a considerable amount of historic information as well. Includes lunch.
Two Hours: Starlight Tour
Starlight Tours have audio equipment for self-guided tours, such as the Afro-American heritage tour featuring the underground railroad - an escape route in the times of slavery.
Duck Pond at University Circle
If you need to get some fresh air or unwind after a long day, this is the place. It's close to the hotel and is popular with local parents who take their children to feed the ducks.
