  • Directions
Mix it up. Check out Bostons colorful mix of creativity and commerce from the Back Bay to the North End. Irish pubs, Italian pasticcerie, Chinese teahouses, universities; they are all just steps from W Boston, which is located in Midtown, the center stage of the citys shopping and nightlife. Take a stroll to the Waterfront, where the New England Aquarium unites with harbor cruises and whale-watching expeditions. Then indulge in dim sum down in Chinatown, the countrys fourth largest Chinese community. Of course nearby in the North End, Italian bistros and cafes line the streets. Be sure to sample the most coveted cannolis in town at Mikes Pastry. Explore closer to home at Faneuil Hall. The gathering spot of abolitionists, temperance advocates and suffragists is now a modern day marketplace full of shops offering everything from New Englands best crafts to the citys celebrated chowder. Or head over to Newbury Street for high-end stores and independent boutiques before basking in the Boston Common. The countrys oldest public park, it borders a number of the citys neighborhoods and is just minutes from Louisburg Square and Beacon Hills narrow tree-lined streets, brick and cobblestone alleyways, and architectural showpieces. Infuse your day with even more history across the Charles River at Cambridge, home to both MIT and Harvard. And there are always the citys sports. Cheer on the Celtics and Bruins at TD Banknorth Garden, visit Fenway Park (a.k.a. the Green Monster) for a Red Sox game or salute the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. You can do almost all of it by foot via the famous Freedom Trail, or just hop on the T. Of course were also happy to provide insider recommendations. Just ask.
