Ardmore is a town located in Limestone County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 1,034.

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,034 people, 460 households, and 276 families residing n the town. The population density is 195.7/km sq. (506.8/mi sq.). There are 506 housing units at an average density of 95.8/km sq. (248.0/mi sq.). The racial makeup of the town is 96.23% White, 0.87% Black or African American, 0.48% Native American, 0.77% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 1.16% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. 1.74% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 460 households out of which 27.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.0% are married couples living together, 11.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.8% are non-families. 36.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 21.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.96.

In the town the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 81.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 78.0 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $28,352, and the median income for a family is $40,673. Males have a median income of $29,531 versus $19,875 for females. The per capita income for the town is $18,447. 17.9% of the population and 10.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 20.2% are under the age of 18 and 30.7% are 65 or older.
