Dothan, Alabama originally was called poplar head about the time the town aplied
for a post office. but there was already a poplar head way up in northern alabama,
so the town was changed to Dothan. the town was named after an old city from
the Bible times. Genisis 37:17- "For i heard them say, let us go forth to Dothan."
